Monotropism

Autism and Mental Health course

Free online course wins prize

For anyone wanting to learn more deeply about Monotropism and what it means for autistic wellbeing, the single best place to go right now is probably Curtin University’s edX course, ‘Autism and Mental Health‘. Wenn Lawson, one of the people who originally developed the theory of Monotropism, was heavily involved in developing this course, which uses this lens to look in depth at questions about autistic thriving and the barriers to it.

The course, which is available for free, won the 2023 edX Prize for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching and Learning. You can watch Wenn’s short acceptance speech here:

Another course that covers Montropism in some depth is Kieran Rose’s ‘Inside of Autism’.
